Mine did the same thing. Called the company and their solution was to put tape over the seem.

My box is brand new. I went to add more litter and decided to do a clean cycle before doing so. There was urine under the barrel. This is unacceptable

Pet kit litter box leaking urine under turning barrel. Purchased new liner because I thought it maybe had a tear. Did not help. Still leaking now . Reading online that may have to tape at liner edge. Really? Paid plenty for this machine and not very happy.
